A room with a mountain view on the Arlberg, at the top

The Panorama Doubles are on the top floors: 401 and 402 on the fourth, 501 to 504 on the fifth. The panoramic window faces south-west, towards the Albona, where the Albona I lift goes up.

Guests come back above all for the sunset. It goes down over the roofs of Stuben, towards Switzerland.

The room

22 m², a Swiss pine bed and an oak floor. The heated wardrobe dries your ski clothes, everything else hangs behind the loden curtain. The bathroom has a bathtub, a hairdryer and a separate WC.

On request we set up room 401 with two separate beds. That suits friends who ski together and don't want to share a bed.

Panorama or Comfort?

Size and bathroom are the same as in the Comfort Double. Here you are two floors higher, with the evening sky in front of the window. One step further is the Mondschein Suite on the same fifth floor, with a four-poster bed and a tiled stove. For couples who count the view from the window as part of the holiday, this is the right category. If you spend your evenings downstairs in the bar anyway, you can skip the height.

The day in between

Breakfast starts at 7.30 on the first floor, and a cook prepares the egg dishes fresh. Then you collect your warmed boots from the locker and reach the Albona I lift in three to four minutes. The gondola takes you from 1,405 to 1,845 m in about five minutes.

Prefer to start the evening downstairs? The wine aperitif in the 17th-century cellar begins at 5.30, 6 or 6.30 pm, by candlelight, with Austrian and international wines.

You are back in your room for the sunset. With half board your table is reserved from 6.30 pm. Find a free Panorama Double.

Questions about the Panorama Double

Do all Panorama Doubles have a mountain view?

Yes. All six are on the fourth or fifth floor, with a panoramic window facing south-west. You look out on the Albona and, in the evening, the sunset towards Switzerland.

Is there a Panorama Double with twin beds?

On request we set up room 401 with two separate beds. Add it to your booking. The other Panorama Doubles have a Swiss pine double bed.

Bathtub or shower?

A bathtub, plus a separate WC and a hairdryer. The bathroom is the same as in the Comfort Double, two floors higher.

How do I get to the fifth floor?

By lift, which connects all six guest levels of the house. Breakfast and dinner are on the first floor, and so are the saunas.

How far is it to the ski lift?

A three to four minute walk to the Albona I lift. The eight-seater gondola runs from 8.30. At the end of the day you ski back down to the village.

Is the Ski Hotel open in summer?

No. The Ski Hotel is open from December to mid-April. In summer the Mondschein Chalet welcomes guests, with spa suites on the slope above Stuben.
