An Arlberg double room with south-west light
The Comfort Double has 22 m² and a panoramic window facing south-west. When you come in from the slopes in the afternoon, the light stays in the room for a long time. By the window there is a sitting area for a coffee or tomorrow's piste map.
You sleep in a Swiss pine double bed on an oak floor. Behind the loden curtain there is room for a week of ski clothes, and the heated wardrobe dries your gloves overnight. There is also a safe, wifi and the energy-free minibar. The house introduced it in 2011, a world first with a patent.
The bathroom
What sets it apart from the Smart Double is the bathroom. There you have a shower, here a bathtub and a separate WC. After a day on the Albona, that counts.
Since 2011 the Ski Hotel has been heated mainly with geothermal energy from 1,150 m below ground, and its indoor climate holds the klima:aktiv GOLD label.
Sauna first, then the bath
Before you run the bath: on the first floor, three saunas, two Kneipp pools, two relaxation rooms and the sauna balcony are open from 3 to 6.30 pm. The house provides bathrobes, slippers and sauna towels. There is no swimming pool. Your own bathtub is one or two floors up.
Second or third floor
There are four Comfort Doubles: rooms 201 and 202 on the second floor, 301 and 302 on the third. The lift serves all six guest levels. If you would rather be higher up, take the Panorama Double: the same size, also with a bathtub, on the fourth or fifth floor.
Evenings in the house
With half board you come to the Panorama Restaurant or the Zirbenstube on the first floor between 6.30 and 8.30 pm. There is a salad buffet, soup, a main course of your choice and dessert. Afterwards the lift takes you back up to the bathtub. Check availability for the Comfort Double.
Questions about the Comfort Double
Does the Comfort Double have a bathtub?
Yes, a bathtub and a separate WC, in all four Comfort Doubles. If a shower is enough and you need less space, the Smart Double is the smaller option.
How many people fit in the Comfort Double?
Two. Travelling as three, the Comfort Double Plus is the right choice: 25 m², a Swiss pine double bed and a loden bench that turns into a sofa bed at night.
Which way does the room face?
South-west. Through the panoramic window you look out on the mountains around Stuben, and the light lasts into the late afternoon.
Which floor is the Comfort Double on?
The second or third floor, in rooms 201, 202, 301 and 302. If you have a preference, mention it when you book.
When can I check in?
From 3 pm, and check-out is by 11 am. If you arrive earlier, we store your luggage. You can change in the changing room and walk straight to the lift.
Does the Comfort Double have a safe and wifi?
Yes, both. The safe is in the room, and there is wifi throughout the house.
