Ski-in ski-out on the Arlberg: what is true for each house

Say you fly into Zurich for three days on skis and do not want a hire car. You take the train to Langen am Arlberg, our shuttle brings you to Stuben in five minutes, and the car question never comes up again. What remains is how quickly you reach the lift each morning.

For us, ski-in ski-out means this: in the evening you ski back to the house, and in the morning you are at the lift within minutes. That holds for all three houses. The difference is what else you find under the same roof.

Stuben sits in the middle of Ski Arlberg at around 1,400 metres, and the Albona I gondola leaves from the village. Which house suits you depends on what you value most: the shortest walk to the lift, restaurants and saunas under one roof, or a sauna in your own suite.

Arlberg Motel: next to the valley station

The Arlberg Motel stands next to the Albona I valley station. Its ski room is on the lowest floor, right by the exit to the lift. Overnight your boots sit on the boot dryers there.

In the morning you put on dry boots in the ski room, pick up your skis and are at the gondola in under a minute. In the evening you ski back to the Motel.

If every minute counts before the first lift, this is the house to book. It has no evening restaurant and no sauna; you will find both at the Ski Hotel next door.

Ski Hotel: in the village centre, skiing back to the door

The Ski Hotel Mondschein stands in the village centre, a three to four minute walk from the Albona I lift. The restaurants, the bar, the wine cellar and three saunas are all in the same building.

The ski room is under the terrace, with its own door from outside. Every guest has a locker with a boot warmer that opens with the room key card, and the room is locked at night. Ski clothes dry in the heated wardrobe in your room.

Breakfast starts at 7.30 am, which leaves time to collect warm boots and reach the valley station for the first gondola at 8.30. In the afternoon you ski back into the village, leave your skis in the ski room and take the lift. It stops on every guest floor, including the first floor with the sauna area. More on the house: Ski Hotel Mondschein.

Mondschein Chalet: a lift of its own to the piste

The Chalet sits on the slope above the village. One to two minutes from the door is the Chalet lift, which takes you to the piste and on to the Albona I gondola. In the evening you ski back to the door. Of our three houses, only the Chalet has its own lift.

Skis stay in the ski room by the entrance, boots in a separate boot room on the ground floor. In the Panorama Spa Double and the Signature Spa Suite your boots go on a warmer inside the suite.

After skiing, nine of the 15 rooms have their own sauna or infrared cabin to warm up in. Which suite has what is on private spa suite on the Arlberg, and the house itself on Mondschein Chalet.

The Albona I gondola and where it takes you

Since the 2023/24 winter the Albona I has been an eight-seat gondola. From 8.30 am it climbs from 1,405 to 1,845 metres in about five minutes, to the Albona Mitte mountain restaurant. The runs on the Albona face north and keep their snow well into spring.

At Alpe Rauz the routes split. The Flexenbahn takes you to Zürs and on to Lech, the Valfagehrbahn to St. Christoph and St. Anton. Ski Arlberg counts 301 km of pistes and 85 lifts and cable cars on one ski pass. The routes are on skiing on the Arlberg.
