Kaltenberg Hütte

The Kaltenberg Refuge is at 2,085 meters well situated to take in the exceptional mountain panorama and fabulous views down into the valley. Hotel Mondschein is responsible for catering at the refuge and therefore quality food is right at hand.

Stuben from above

Take a half day walk from Stuben in the direction of Zurs. Rise to the summit cross o the Erzbergsattel and enjoy the breathtaking view down at Stuben.

Short hike to Stuben Lake

A 45 minute walk up a steep path takes you to the Stuben Lake. The clear and crisp water invites you to take a cooling dip or you can simply chill out sunbathing in the green surrounding meadows. Then either return to Stuben or continue to the Kaltenberg Refuge for a well earned snack.

Formarin Lake

October 2015 the Formarin Lake was voted one of the most attractive sceneries in Austria by the TV programme ‘9 Places, 9 Treasures’. There are several ways to get there from Stuben – hike, bike, mountain bike or by taking the local bus from Lech.

Geopath on Ruefikopf

Take a trip through geological history. Today you have alpine pastures where originally oceans ruled. You can also find Fossils along the well marked trail. The track is rewarded with the Hiking seal of Approval and will suprise you along the way!

Schnannerklamm in St. Anton

The Schnannerklamm is a spectacular gorge which rises above St. Anton. Its path has recently been renovated and now provides a secure route for hikers.

Herbal Hike to the Alp Nenzigast

Walk around the alp grass with its herbs and flowers, which are growing in unbelievable diversity in a natural environment. After a guided tour on the alp, where you will learn about lifestock farming and life in the mountains, you will prepare an alpine herbs pesto with you collected herbs. A lunch with fresh bread, cheese and pesto will prepare you for the walk back down.
